Why rankings look confusing
Professional boxing uses multiple sanctioning bodies and editorial ratings. Box-Rank shows them side by side so you can compare WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO, and Ring without jumping between official sites.
The pieces that matter
- Weight class: every list is division-specific (for example heavyweight).
- Organization: each body has its own champions and contenders.
- Month: ratings change after fights and committee meetings. Use archives for history.
- Title badges: champions are labeled with the full title name (such as Super Champion, World Champion, Champion, Interim Champion or Regular Champion), not short codes. A gold badge marks the primary belt in that division for that organization. A silver badge marks secondary or interim titles (for example a WBA Regular Champion when a Super Champion is also listed, or an Interim Champion).
A simple reading order
- Open the combined rankings for the division you care about.
- Note who holds belts on Champions.
- Check Who Moved? if you want recent climbs and drops.
- Drill into a fighter's Boxers A-Z profile for history across orgs.
