The World Boxing Council (WBC) was established in 1963 and is known for its iconic green championship belt. The WBC has been involved in many of the sport's biggest fights.
International Boxing Federation
The International Boxing Federation (IBF) was founded in 1983 and is known for its strict ranking system and mandatory defenses. The IBF emphasizes merit-based rankings.

The Ring Magazine
The Ring is a boxing magazine founded in 1922, known for divisional rankings and Ring championship lineage. Its lists are editorial ratings, not sanctioning-body mandates. The publication relocated to Dubai in 2022 and was acquired by Turki Alalshikh in November 2024. The Ring also promotes boxing events under its brand while retaining a ratings panel for its rankings.
